This summer I was recently introduced to an author that I really began to enjoy reading. My sister-in-law gave me some books by Nicholas Sparks that I couldn’t put down. I would classify them as romance novels, because that is really what the books focus on. I wouldn’t say that they are the cheesy romance novels that you usually read, but one that actually has some depth behind it.
I thought that the author did an excellent job writing his books, until I started reading more and more of them in a row. I soon began to see the same pattern over and over again in his writing style. I liked his books a lot at one time, but now I am beginning to wonder. His books seem to follow the same plot line. All that has changed are the names and descriptions of the characters. For some books it has kids, while in other books instead of a kid they have a dog.
For some reason I keep reading his books, and I still say that he is one of my favorite authors. I think what compells me to keep reading his books, are merely for the fact to see if he will vary away from the same plot line that he continues to follow. I am just waiting for his books to not have that fairy tale ending just like everyone that I have read.
